Hello gents we are wrapping up our trip to Japan and we are ready to go. I just wanted to post a bit of our itinerary. Let me know if you see anything wrong in it or any comment about it. I also have a few place that remains undecided.
Thanks for your help.
How we will travel:
We already have our japan rail ticket for 14 days and travel assurances and of course I made sure my credit and debit card could be accepted at the post office or different bank and know what to look for even tho I will be prepared in currency. We will be traveling light with a 45 liter backpack. I know it?s not that convenient but we will avoid rush hours and get reserve ticket hopefully when moving around with those. Anyway I?m bringing a smaller backpack so we don?t look like tard in the street. Anyway I have been listening to the japan channel video for a long time and took advice from them.
We don?t intend to move far from the hotel on the first day since we will be quite tired I?m guessing after almost 15 hours of flight.
The trip will be staged from 2 different places: Tokyo and Osaka
1) 4 days in ikebukuro
2) 7 days in apartment in Osaka
3) 2 days visiting a friend and 1 days in a random capsule hotel , gotta try it once
Part 1 in Tokyo
Touristic stuff:
1) Imperial palace ground, garden near by
2) Sunshine tower view in ikebukuro
3) Asakusa temple and shrine
4) If time permit a trip to Kamakura
Hanging around:
1) Akhibara, Shinjuku,Shibuya, Harajuku
2) Going to visit Roppongi hills
3) Going to a live show at Cresendo
Part 2 in Osaka
We will be visiting the Osaka castle and museum on the day of arrival since we will be staying close from it. I heard you should stay away from the south of Osaka, is this true ?
Stuff we will do while being in osaka :
1) Iga and nara on the sameday
2) 3 days for Kyoto
3) 1 day for Hiroshima and Mayajima
This leaves about 3 days to do something else:
Those are the choice we are pondering about:
1) Himeji : I heard the castle is being repaired right now and you?re not able to visit it?
2) Mount Koya or Koyasan : Should like a nice place from the picture I have seen but I heard the typhoon damaged it I was wondering to what extend ?
This place seems a bit more expensive to get to since you cannot use Jrail pass and you have to buy the ticket separately. But the place does look nice but I don?t know If I isn?t gonna be tired from temple after visiting what have been mentioned before.
3) Kanazagawa is also another option . Does look nice too bad the ninja temple require reservation tho. But I don?t know if it?s really worth going there.
4) Shima Peninsula : Suppose to have quite a beautiful shrine , but then again not sure it?s worth going there.
Don?t assume I?m saying any of those places are not great. I just need to be realistic and choose the best with the time available to us.
Part 3 tokyo:
1) Nikko
2) Shopping some gift to bring back and visiting a friend
Finally weather : I was thinking of bringing what I would wear in september in canada. I guess from what I'm seeing the weater in october in japan is a little warmer then here in canada.
Thanks for your input

Nikko is brilliant! Had a great time there wandering around in the Scenery of the area. If you haven't booked accomodation for it I recommend Fu Sha cottage (Google is friend). Get to experience staying in a Japanaese Cottage and the Landlady is SUPER nice.
