If you're into Anime & Manga and/or Electronics, Akihabara (a.k.a. Akiba) in Tokyo is a great place to visit if you haven't already. Another great place to visit is Ueno park; it's beautiful (as long as you aren't going to visit in the winter)!

Fully agree. Tokyo is a fascinating city.
A lot of things to see and enjoy. One can easily use a week or more in Tokyo, just take the time to plan visiting the right places.

Thanks for the recommendations, though, I am not back from Japan. I was in Tokyo, and love the city. I was all over Japan, and I think Tokyo is as much a part of Japan as the small towns can be.

This trip round, I just got to sit around and take in the sights. I was fortunate to have just left Tokyo for Nagono when the quake hit.

Wether or not you find Tokyo fascinating can depend on what you are used to.

I just got to Tokyo less than a week ago, and the scale of things, size and all the people is a very fascinating experience for me. Tokyo has 3 times as many inhabitants as my entire country! So the scale of everything was mindblowing!
Just buying office supplies in Ikebukuro felt like a venture in and by itself.
I havent quite settled down yet, so i really haven't done anything.

I got the Lonely Planet book for Tokyo, and it is litteraly FULL of stuff to do.
