What visas did they have?
Not likely that they had instructors visas without at least a BA or years of work experience as teachers before coming.

Hi there!!

I have a question relating to working in Japan. I'm from Greece and have a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering (from a 4-year technological institution here). I also work for 3,5 years in the mobile telecommunications field. Is that considered enough to get a working Visa?

Also I'm fluent - almost at native level but without the CPE certificate - at English and I just started learning Japanese. I know a few German and - of course - Greek. Is there a chance to work as an English instructor or even teach Greek or is it not that common? I hear they teach ancient Greek at schools, so I figure one might be interested to the modern version as well.

Anyway when I first go to Japan, I'll be going as a tourist for a couple of weeks, but I'd like to know my options there - it's such a fascinating country.

Id say it wouldn't be a problem for you to teach. Although check the Institutes that offer the services for you to teach abroad. From having a quick read from the JET program it could be a possibility you may not be able to apply through them since Greece isn't a participating country and also because of one or two other details.

Check around and find more information, have a look at TEFL either and see what information they can provide about being able to teach. There is a few other type of institutes that also offer services of being able to teach in Japan (not sure of the names though).

I'm sorry i can't provide much more details, iv skimmed through information regarding teaching as a passing interest but wouldn't know too much regarding it.

I have a question about Working visa..
I'm 24 years old living in Philippines.
I have friends working and living in Japan and they tell me that they can help me to find my job and I could also stay with them..
does my education is valid for Skilled Worker category???
2 years associate's degree in computer science
2 years Computer technician
my friends on japan tells me that they can help me to work in a factory.. Fujitsu and my work there is to assemble laptop..

Well if they are able to get you sponsorship into the company i don't see why you can't get the job. Since you already have education and experience in Computers it is showing that you have at least knowledge in the work you may be getting. Educational requirements (like degrees) for work in Japan usually come from the Employer who will want to hire you, and on your behalf provide the Immigration office with the Certificate of Eligibility.

It's still a confusing process, i don't understand it fully myself but i don't think you should have a problem getting a visa as long as if the company itself wants to sponsor you. (whether if Immigration grants the visa, i dont know 100%)

The visa you would most like fall under would be Engineers Visa. Since you will be dealing with matters related to IT and Engineering.

At the end of the day there is no harm in going for it. And also there is no harm in getting touch with your countrys local Japanese Consultate to ask them regarding this (they would know more information regarding the situation)
