Sounds easy enough. You would think.

Being able to go there is one thing, but the money needed to go over there and stay for a bit is a whole other story. You'd have to work your tail off and be good with your money.

Unless you were born inside a wealthy family. I'd envy you.

So, pretty much as long as your record is clean they'll give you the 90 day visa, correct? Could you leave japan and then go back shortly after and get another 90 day visa or do you have to wait a certain amount of time? And if this method works, could you accumulate 10 years worth of living in japan and apply for a citizenship/permanent residency?

Well, it was possible some time ago (you could only do it twice or three times in a row) but Japanese Immigration are catching onto this so if you are caught doing it you won't be allowed in. Citizenship in Japan is very hard to obtain and you need at least 5 or 6 years WORKING experience in Japan before application (10 years living in Japan overall) and need things such as tax records, employers details etc etc. If you are caught working on a Tourist visa you will be black stamped, deported and never allowed in the country again

As far as i know u need to work there the method you said won't work in order to obtain citizenship actually it won't work on any country.I think after 5 years of working there u get a permanent citizenship and after another 5 you official are Japanese

Quite correct but not 100%, you are not guarenteed Citizenship even if you qualify as having worked and lived there for a long period of time. The Japanese government have to take other things into account such as your personal character and your experiences in Japan (i.e have you done anything substantial for the Japanese government to offer you this Citizenship), as far as Im aware this goes exactly the same with Permanent Residency. Even if you have worked there for 5 or more years, again you are not guaranteed permanent residency.

I thought you wanted to stay short term? Now permanently? Which is it?

If you are from the US, you don't need a visa to enter Japan for 90 days. The other person is off. Check MOFA's site.

Hide a ring? You could have a suitcase of rings and no one would care....

Also, you can't accumulate 10 years of being in Japan, if you are only there for 90 days. 90 days is 90 days.

Why do you want PR so bad?

I have a question, I'm from Israel, do I have to open visa to go there as a tourist?

Another question, if I marry a Japanese woman, doesn't it automatically makes me a Japanese citizen? O.O

Nope. You can apply for a Spousal Visa if you marry a Japanese national. I don't know the in's and out's of it but there may be requirements to go along being issued the Visa. Japanese Citizenship, from general sources, say is quite hard to obtain
