Ditto, if you check Visa/Employment threads there should be somthing there. Generally I find looking at your countries local Japanese Embassy/Consultate website is excellent for finding out more information regarding visas etc.

But to answer your question quickly, if you are a Chef that has a particular Culinary skill that a Resturant wants (i.e they are advertising for someone who has this experience/skill) then yes it is possible to get a Visa. If you are a waiter then im afraid this won't be possible
