Just reading a wonderful and famous Japanese book written in the late Meiji period called "My Name is Cat" by Natsume Soseki.
It is a delightful insight into Japanese culture and thinking.
So many examples, but one comment I just read referred to the fact that Japanese people don't like to do anything "..which might be a nuisance to others..".
I love this as I think it typifies Japanese thinking and is one of the reasons it is so pleasant living in Japanese society.

That is a great book!
But a HUGE one!
I started it.. but only got through about a quarter of it..
You have inspired me to dig it out and try again!

I must say that I am really enjoying all your posts, Samurai8.
You are a prolific writer and write so well!
I agree with 99.9% of what you say, too!

I also read a Musashi biography and The Book of Five Rings and they are two of my favorite books.

The Book of Five Rings can get a bit "out there" but is a must for martial artists!

Please, Samurai8, keep up your contributions.
I rarely post these days but I read ALL comments on the forum.
