Just reading a wonderful and famous Japanese book written in the late Meiji period called "My Name is Cat" by Natsume Soseki.
It is a delightful insight into Japanese culture and thinking.
So many examples, but one comment I just read referred to the fact that Japanese people don't like to do anything "..which might be a nuisance to others..".
I love this as I think it typifies Japanese thinking and is one of the reasons it is so pleasant living in Japanese society.
