Regarding the milk thing, as a fan of drinking milk i was quite happy with the quality of milk over in Japan. Both Low and Normal fat milk was nice and the skimmed milk was actually the nicest skimmed milk iv tasted ever. It was fairly handy to get low fat milk, nearly every supermarket has it but depending on the convenience store whether if they have them or not (some convenience store have their own brand milks etc).
