How about company names and logos?
Mitsubishi Japan's latest:
"Drive@Earth" (drive at earth)

Probably suggests some sort of environmental friendliness to Japanese or "eco" as they call it!

To me it sounds like their planning another range of intergalactic vehicles for other planets!

With so many people speaking English well in Japan now, I am surprised companies don't bother checking their catchy name or logo actually means something before they decide on it!

Yeah! "Eco"!!!
I know they mean "environmentally friendly" and I guess it comes from "ecology".
How about "ruru" ???
They mean "RULE" and see it a lot on game shows.
They even write "ruru" in katakana!!
Drives me crazy that one!!!!!!!!

Been watching one of those TV music shows...
almost all the bands have wierd japanglish names...
"Candy Candy"...
And sing songs that are 99% Japanese with some Japanglish thrown in for "coolness"...
"Dou shite anata LOVE ME nai......"
"Baby love heart ever....."
Unbuttoned bright colored shirts and chains like something from the 70's....
Japanese rap...
55 year old bimyo dudes trying to be cool and young babes pretending the old guys are cool!!!

Just saw a singer calling himself: "Mr Children"

Is it just me.. or does that sound like a pedophile??

Few more for the Japanglish list:

"Speedo ova" = speeding - usually in a car.
(Don't know why "speedingu" isn't used!)

"Imehgy" = a mental image of something
"Pointo" = an item of information
"Hinto" = a hint

So slowly Japanese will be replaced with something that isn't Japanese but wont be recognizable as English either.. bit sad really.

With a good percentage of the world laughing at Japanglish I had thought that Japanese companies and the Japanese media would try to get more accurate with their English if they knew the errors they make.
But I have come to believe that they don't care.
They use some English to be cool and fashionable, and if it is wrong or weird (from a native speaker point of view) they don't care.
They realize that 99.9% of Japanese people don't recognize the errors so they don't care.... as amazing as that seems to us!!!!
