I dont know why, maybe it is because of the HUGE Japanese population, or because Japanese society tends to have everyone conforming, but they love their "famous" people here.

If someone did something once (made a song, was in a TV drama etc) - even if nobody can remember what they did - they are "talent" and "famous" and you will see them on TV regularly.

Alternately if someone has a gimmick - like the guy who comes out in his swimmers and does a silly dance - they can be "famous"!

As a result of this, Japanese TV shows often have whole teams of "famous" people on every episode.

The "talent" usually just sit there and indulge the host with unified calls of "sugoi" etc, many of them never even say anything - just look totally enthrawled and impressed with whatever is happening!

Anyone else noticed this??
