Rarely see an overweight one, their skin is perfect (and goes a lovely brown in summer), I love their fashion and they are sweet!!!

Japanese girls may do any or all of the following things but may have ZERO romantic or physical interest in you:

Lots of smiling and flashing of big eyes

Lots of giggling

Asking you for your email/phone number

Maybe taking your photo with them

Telling you how cool you are

Telling you how handsome you are

Telling you how amazing and strong your body is
(maybe even touching your hair or arms)

They may just be enjoying the novelty of talking to a gaijin, may be just enjoying free English practice or a number of other innocent reasons!!
If they really like you it is possible that you will not know one way or another for months!
Patience and appropriate sincere behavior is essential!

I`ve found that one way to shortcut all the guessing is to just say (perhaps after meeting a couple of times - which is a good sign in itself), "I really like you."

Invite the person for dinner, a movie, whatever. I don`t feel there are many mysteries to be solved in this area. If you`re not sure about the other person`s feeling for you, then ask. It`s the quickest way to find out

Well, I`ve always thought that if you like someone and they were forward toward you, then you wouln`t mind.

If someone cute told me they liked me, it certainly wouldn`t put me off them...besides, Japanese people don`t expect you to be Japanese, and Japanese girls in particular do like it.

Basically if someone likes you and you say you like them, then all is well. Nothing bad will happen! There`s nothing wrong with saying you like someone. Life is short - share the love!

But probably not a good idea to actually say, "Look, I`m desperate. Throw me a frickin` bone here." Balance Petina, balance...
