I know that tattoos are seen as a bad thing in Japan but I wanted to know are there tattoo shops or is the industry underground ... Im planing on getting a horimono for personal reasons ill still be able to hide it even if im wearing short sleeves.  |

So I would have a hard time doing what I want to do (Kenjutsu, Horimono etc),because im Gaikokujin ?? I understand that discrimination is every were but what can I do or how can I make them overlook my skin color(My parents are from Algeria and I was born in Quebec), will I have to keep prouving my self to every one??I thank you for you answers.

It isn't about skin color.
It is about Japanese culture.
Teachers of many arts do not accept foreigners because we have a reputation for bad behavior and/or not understanding Japanese culture.
This is a result of the behavior of some non-Japanese people in Japan.

Is there a tattoo shop in Tokyo that is American Friendly? I'm planning a trip there and want to get a tattoo of an Anime Girl on my Forarm. I have other tattoos and i know when i go to Japan i will need Long sleave shirts to cover my tattoos. I just want Japanese art done in Japan so i can say i got that one in Japan.
