Financial security requirement? 13 Years, 5 Months ago

I'm leaving for Japan in about 14 hours. I just came across a page that said they can refuse me entry if I can't prove that I'm able to support myself financially while I'm there.
I'll only be in Japan for two weeks. I have ryokan/minshuku rooms reserved for the whole time. I can easily support myself, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what constitutes proof for the nice gentlemen at immigration. I have three or four bank credit cards, and I was expecting to carry in about 50,000 yen in cash.
Does anyone know what will satisfy this requirement? Not looking for guesses, I can probably do that myself.

I would grab at least another 100,000 yen and bring it with me just to be sure...
As a side note.. credit cards are not real useful for traveling around here..
But you might be OK.. depending on who checks you (if they do) and the mood they are in...

your credit cards are useless in Japan.
You may have to resort to getting a cash advance on your card at the airport before you board the plane....just accept the extra credit charges as experience and maybe let a fellow traveller know of your experience.
Japan is expensive, (understatement) you should never travel there with less than USA$10,000. Never count on being able to use a credit card in a foreign country. I have travelled to many countries and was surprised at how useless they were.
