Was sure were to put this and im prolly a day late and yen short but...AKb48/omg teens in bikini's=So..to be honets i don't really "keep up" with jpop in general--if i hear something catchy i listen to it. There was commentary about inappropriateness(sp?) of how they were dressed. I do not agree with that and would like to share my reasoning=1)If you instead dressed them up in say clown suits (makeup and all) does that take away their singing/danceing talent or the hard work they put in to each production they do? 2)If you put them in say cheerleader outfits as worn at the cheerleading comptitons held in the USA--does that take away fom their talent/hardwork? If how they dress is a focus--cheerleader outfits arent much better in comparison than the school girl outfits they wear in fact they are alot more revealing in some cases....bkini's? girls of all age ranges wear them in the USA and no thoughts of inaapropriateness is said...or a step further and look at how america dresses up little girls for the miss little pageant contests (makeup outfits etc)..by comparison akb48 in bikinis is a lot more morally ethical in treatment than ive seen some of the outfits/makeup shown in the pagent footage seen on the internet( seriously--what is a 4year old doing in makeup and dressing as if she where 20+ years older than she actually is).
in all are you focusing on cultural diferences/values that are yours and all should be following because its the "right one" or should you be focusing on some young women being given a chance to live the dream most girls only imagine?

Hm, different people have different values. In my opinion its the same as different people like different kinds of art.

But if it comes down to it it depends on the very own opinion. And the own opinion is build on own preferences and experience.

If you ask if AKB48 is right or wrong I would say neither.

If the girls have fun while doing it and there is no obligation/forcing/exploiting then why should I complain about it.

On the other side the old dude did made a video adressing the AKB48 issue and if I lived in japan it would probably at least annoyed. Because it is widespread.
