Well as the subject says I'm a us sailor, and I am hoping to be stationed in Japan after I finish school for my job. Any advise or suggestions? I don't wanna come off to anyone as another american who'll cause trouble.

Good attitude
Just be nice, quiet and respectful to everyone, listen and watch what is happening and try to be as low profile as possible.
And hang out with other sailors who have the same attitude as you
You have the right attitude, I am sure you will be fine.
