Employment for 6 months? 10 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Forum - thank you for your help!

I am an American, aged 43, who lives and works in Thailand. I have visited Japan in the past and hope to move to Japan in the future but for now have a tourist business in Thailand that requires my attention from October to May, and I'd like to spend the rest of the year working in Japan.

Are there opportunities for 6 month employment, such as English teaching? Everything I see online seem to focus on a minimum 1 year contract.

On the other hand I have a wealth of experience as a wedding celebrant in Thailand. I have heard that there are jobs performing weddings in Japan, but very few people seem willing to share information about these jobs. Is this an employment opportunity worth looking toward?

Thanks!

You are right.
Teaching English is usually a one year contract.
The rent-a-gaijin celibrants are just part-time gigs and you would never get a visa for it, sorry.
