Well I'm always looking up for information on a trade skill I have that would be useful to the japanese so I may get a work visa over there one day. Now I figured from all the videos from the youtube playlist that they have even chinese styled restaurants over there and of course some american branches like McDonalds.

My question is do they have any kind of American style Food chains over there?

You may be asking what kind of cuisine is considered American...

Fried Chicken
Chicken fried steak
Barbecued baby back ribs
Beer-battered or pan fried fish

There are alot of recipes that we americans have made that well were kind of original. America is based off of multiple cultures intermixing and other then the native americans then you could say that the food we have is kind of different or unique. I'd like to see the Japanese's reaction to let say a TACO or burrito. They are also very conservative about their eating so the portion sizes may be kept lower then the American all you can eat buffets but hey it'd be a great Cultural exchange.

Don't want to sound negative but...
This idea sounds to me like trying to sell american cars to japanese people!
I think this idea is doomed from the start... but what do I know, I'm just an engineer.

Yes... hard not to sound negative on this one..

Japanese people love foreign food..

Italian, French, Korean.. even Chinese...

But American food is not exactly famous as international cuisine or for being healthy..

McDOnalds and Dennys do OK here.. but they adjust their menus for Japanese tastes..

Also.. for this you would need a business visa.. not a work visa..
so you would need YEARS of experience owning a similar business and LOTS of cash to prove you can do it.. and employ at least two Japanese staff - those are the rules..
