Which program? 14 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi all!
I'm looking into teaching English abroad, however there's literally hundreds of programs to choose from and I'm completely lost. I'd really like to know what programs some people used or what they heard. Any information will be great!

Ideally I'd like a program that starts sometime in the summer (JET's US deadline doesn't start up again until next Sept unfortunately) since I'm a senior in college and will graduate this May. Also a program that would really help out with transitioning into independent life, Japan style. Also, is Toeffl certification really necessary? Are the online programs for real? I don't think I'll have time to take a course this semester, but would taking the test be fine?

Another quick question, I've been getting mixed responses on this one, but are Japanese people racist? I'm American of East Indian descent. I'm guessing there isn't a lot of diversity, but I'm hoping the urban areas, at least Tokyo are different. Thoughts?

Thanks again!

Can non-native Eanglish speaking people like me teach English in Japan if they have taken an exam in English, have a Certificate or sth else?

Thank you.
