Unfortunately, as Petina said you won't be able to find work as a cleaner in Japan.

Reason being is because you require sponsership from a company to hire you for work. And the visa's required to get work are also specific visa's and are usually of requirement of a specific skill and also require a University Degree (example Engineering, Law etc). Although a good proportion of people might have a degree not related to a specific skill/visa and come to Japan to teach English.

If you still want to try and work in Japan then realistically the only way is getting a degree. If Uni/college is too expensive then try finding out more regarding Grants and/or Scholarships for these colleges. You can check if your local councils/authorities give grants to aid you in further education. Try looking at studying abroad in different countries and also if these Universities/Colleges provide financial aid to International Students. There 'should' be financial aid out there for furthering your education, all you have to do is look around and make enquiries.

All that said, there is an exemption though that allows you to work as a cleaner and doesn't require sponsorship. This would be a working holiday visa, although your country has to have an agreement with Japan to get this visa, the countries are:
- Ireland
- Canada
- Germany
- France
- Austrailia
- Korea
- New Zealand
- United Kingdom

If you live in any of these countries you can apply for a Working Holiday Visa, to work in Japan with no particular restrictions of types of work. However it's only for max one year for most countries. Austrailia, New Zealand & Canada get 6 months initially but can get an extension for another 6 months once, although Austrailians can get this extension twice. This visa is a once in a lifetime visa and after finishing it you cannot get this visa again.

All the best.
