Try and remember or find the address again please! That would be the coolest... Free Home Language Exchange... would the family have to be wealthy to afford that (an extra room), seeing as how there is not much space in Japan?

Not sure there is free homestay for grown-ups... I will dig a little more.
Thank you all for your replies anyway!

I guess I could have figured that out... sometimes I forget that I am grown up... I am only nineteen so, I could pass if I needed to (Joke).

I still don't get why a Japanese family would do it for free...
Isn't the average homestay 10,000 yen a week or something??
I don't think we should over-estimate the value Japanese people put on having a gaijin in their house...

I hope you find a way, though

Looking forward to hearing the result!

Wow, 10,000 yen a week is not bad, not nearly as much as I thought it would be...

It is free cuz you must work for the your host, usually on the farm or onsen inn...

It is mutual benefit cuz host gets free employee and you get language practice and a free meal...

Usually that kind of contract lasts for a month but you can extend it for another month...

I cant remember all the details but this works not only in Japan but many other nations with that program...
