In general:
My sister-in-law is japanese so I guess my brother must have done something right. I'd say there definitely are japanese girls/women who are interested in freigners and other cultures. I just know my siter-in-law and her sister but they are both really gentle and nice people, although my s-i-l knows how to put her foot down and say "no" (of course, no generalization). It is quite hard to know what they are thinking, because they seem kind of embarresed to talk about their opinion and their wants but you get used to it or figure out a way to understand them (i usually pressure her (gently!) into saying what she really wants).
Although my brother isn't the most considerate person (-.-) and also, kind of a "macho", she fell in love with him anyway. I'm not saying that you shouldn't treat your girlfriend with respect or anything (hell, i'm a girl) just that japanese girls propably fall in love like any other girl. I asume the most dificult part is the "getting to know her". But I think that if you are (or seem...-.-) serious and interested enough the chances are not THAT low of finding a japanese girlfriend (I do believe that the "boyfriend-girlfriend" relationship is important to most of them - even if it is more aloof - and that they don't care much for a fling). A tad off topic:
To those who freaked out about reading that japanese, married couples don't have sex anymore after the birth of their child. I know that at least my brother's an his wife's sexlife is quite healthy and their little one is 3 years old.

What's your average Japanese girl like to do on a date? Anything like North America like seeing a movie, shopping, or having dinner together?

Hi guys i'm new here, so first i'd just like to say hello to you all. Also, I'd like to add that i'm very interested, maybe even obsessed with Japan. I want to one day have a Japanese wife, and probably live in Japan as well. Something's been bugging me however concerning Japanese girls or women and foreigners. I've read that some Japanese women will go and marry a foreign guy and some won't which I understand, but from all the cases i've read this is only with white men or men with white skin. I'm wondering how japanese women view men who are tan or brown I guess? I'm personally a mix of Mexican and Persian (Iranian), and i'm just wondering if it will be even harder to meet the right girl in Japan, due to those factors... Anyway guys i'd appreciate a response if you have any feedback or anything.. thanks!
