Hey guys, I'm just wondering that since kissing in public seems really uncool in Japan. Can hugging, be acceptable or still a uncomfortable thing to be seen around Japanese streets or places?

Short answer? Nope

You can do it if you want to.. occasionally you may even see it.. but the people who do it are not admired by the majority.. to put it kindly

To my knowledge Japanese society is still to conservative and considers any kind of public display of affection indecent and improper...

To put is simply there is time and place for everything...

Ok you got mine vote on this topic i think same thing its realy not nice nor cultural to kiss or make out in bus or at some public place.
Its ok to love her but something private need to be that private.

it is quite acceptable to hug in america. I hug my friends when I greet them its a nice way to show affection very innocent.
