Many Japanese people live at home with their parents until they get married.
There is also a percentage of the Japanese population who have secretive relationships for any number of reasons.
To cater for this, "Love Hotels" are very popular and very common.
A couple can book into a Love Hotel for as little or as much time as they wish and are only charged for the time they are there.. somewhat like a taxi!!

I stayed in Love Hotels a few times
The room and bathroom are MUCH bigger than normal hotels and they have karaoke machines and DVD players and lots of other cool stuff you dont get in other hotels...
and they are cheaper!
One time a group of friends went together just to hang out and drink and watch music videos... it was a blast!!

That video is a spin out!!
Never see anything like it!

My friends tell me that, although they are often used for "insincere" activities they are also used by loving couple who just want to be alone.

And i guess "sex hotel" might spoil the romance sometimes!

or "Doing naughty things with your secretary you dont want you wife to know about hotels"
