What is religion like over there in Japan and how well are people hold it up if you know what I mean, and how many atheist Japanese people there?

There is some statistic that most Japanese people say they are "not religious".. (wish I could remember the % - it was high!)

But they all seem to do o'bon and the New Year visit to the shrine and temple and all that stuff...

It seems to me that they don't think of it as religion.. more like culture .. or just more a part of them than something they "practice" or something..
I would call them "spiritually aware".

Oh, so that must be why they prefer to settle things peacefully than fight like weston cultures do!
