I had just viewed some more videos and on one video, he mentioned the way of thinking in Japan is not out of the box. A don't rock the boat , do as others type of thinking. My question is, if and when Japanese manufacturers need new fresh ideas, do they look to foreigners in their own country for that out of the box, different model thinking ideas?

I hope that my intent of the question has come through. Thanks for the time. Bye for now from Canada.

Hello

Yes, our man's video series is excellent, isn't it!

And what he says about harmony and "not rocking the boat" is so true.

But you are talking about product innovations.. nothing "rocking the boat" about that...

And to assume that Japanese people need foreigners for innovative ideas is to ignore their amazing track record of product innovation.

Sony, Toyota, Toshiba and so on and on and on.. don't need foreigners for their good ideas

you are correct, yet when watching the video, I was reminded of many past time where the Japanese would send market researchers to other countries to find out how to best promote their product and get consumer feedback. This was where my original question was directed,(It was poorly worded and not clear). Anyways, I think I answered my own question. Thanks for the reply.

P.S., I Was not assuming, I was asking. Big Difference.

I am sure you are right.

I am sure Japanese do market research in other countries and on the net and media too.

My point was more that I don't think the companies think they need foreigners on board to come up with ideas.. as they seem to have plenty of their own
