I think English being used in Japan is a bit sad as it dilutes the Japanese language and makes it a bit less pure.

It would be a shame if, in the future, we all end of with some hybrid language that is a mix of different ones as I think the differences are what make the world more interesting - and I would also like to see Japanese culture and language preserved because it is so beautiful(although it would be useful if everyone understood each other!).

or another way to see , japanese language never pure from beginning but take much from chinese, korean . not bad , japan have very colorful language because of. many words for express one things. many ways to writing. now japan take much english and so on .

i study english is same way . first english is germanic language and have small words and one kind of grammar , but then from bikings to french conquor england to , how you say 新生 (born again time in europa , people reading girisha and ladin book) , english so mixed , even grammar change and because of ,today english have two times many words as another west languages and very much color to express.

language always change , what is pure ? cultur too.

specially youth japanese like use english word because to express self freely and have own identity . if try to preserve old ways i afrayd people become to tied to elders world and not happy or improvement life .

If you want to gauge the effectiveness of an online translator, translate a sentence from English to Japanese and then back again.

I tried "I need a pair of shoe laces please." with Altavista's Babelfish service and ended up with "I needing rejoices the race/lace shoes."

Bollocks!
