I'd like to ask you few things about Japan. I've always dreamt to go there, I'm learning Japanese and I think I know pretty much about the culture. I'm going there in a month, for a 2 week trip. The thing is that I use wheelchair. I'm active and independent but I'm not sure how to behave in Japan. Assuming I'm going to someone's house - should I still take my shoes off? How about bowing while sitting - would it still be polite or not? If you've got any advices about what I should do, I'll really appreciate them.

Hi
It is good that you are thinking about how to behave
The good news is that Japanese people are very forgiving of foreigners who are only here for a short time..
so bowing and so on will not be important.
If you are staying in western style hotels the shoes issue wont matter either.
