As far i understand this is not set in stone, only a question of demand... I think with woman becoming more independant and going there own ways there will be some changes, i learned that if you can be sure of one thing is that Japanese societie is one the one side very conservative and traditional (ok, extremely so) but on the other side very pragmatic.
Consider how much has changed since WW2 in Japan and how traditional the culture still is, this is something that makes it to me very fascinating.
My opinion is that the Japanese strong grip on tradition while at the same time embracing everything new means a high tension, but by keeping its traditions it is very strong.
Not a place i could life (I come from a societie where people are very blunt to each other, i would fit like the fist on an eye there, longterm, i think i can stand fitting in for a short period at best)
BUT i think as a country and culture very strong and making its way.
So altogether i think you will sooner or later see male Geisha entertaining woman who are CEOs.
I do not think one can really compare the role of woman in western and Japanese societie, but it changed in some areas drastic compared to pre WW2 compared to today.
I do not think one should tranfer the idea of feminism 1:1 from west to Japan, it will have to find its own ways to make it work for booth genders I think it will find a way to do it, so far Japanese culture made its transformations into the modern world always in an way who was surprising.
And it is a good thing, we (the world) need cultures to explore ways to life with each other in different ways, cultures can learn from each other this way, there would be nothing worse than an worldwide homogenous culture, for my opinion this would be a way to certain failure.

Well, I agree on how amaizing is that Japanese have preserved and cultivated their old traditions and customs. That's how they keep/store their identity as a nation.

I think Geisha are really interesting and are very beautiful type of japanese girls. I know alot about them from what I have read and seen so far. But I dislike the fact that the word geisha some people in who don't know alot about japanese culture think of geisha as prostitutes. Which I think they should research it and not just assume it.
