A world heritage listed castle, Himejijo (jo means castle) is considered the best preserved original castle in Japan.
It is also on of the biggest and if you only see one castle in Japan make it this one!!

I think I took a tour of it once (saw so many temples, castles and shrines (oh my) while there it's hard to tell). If it is the place I'm thinking of, it has a garden with a stone walk that you are supposed to walk on barefoot to help with foot problems. I remember it has stones of one type on one side and stones of a different type on the other with a small partition running down the middle. Am I thinking of the same one? I remember it was massive and the tour couldn't cover the entire castle in one day.
