I live in Bangkok and recently started teaching English to a couple of Japanese ladies. One of them her English isn't that great and she was trying to tell me about what she wanted to learn but she couldn't. I had her write it down and this is what she wrote.

きのきいた言葉

kinokieta kotoba


My Japanese is limited but do I understand this correctly that she just wants to learn a more casual conversational style of English?

I think she may have said:



Kinok?ta kotoba

Kinok?ta means sensible,clever or decent
&
Kotoba means Language,dialect, words etc

So she may have mean't she would like to learn proper or maybe 'polite' English?

I'm not sure what to make of it but i hoped that helped in some way
