Short term courses in Japan 11 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Well hello there!

I think this is the right place to post this question.

I just graduated in product design, and I want to keep learning and studying. I am interested on a master's degree, but first I want to take a few short term courses (something like 3 months?). And well, although I am not a fan of Japanese weaboo culture (anime, manga and all that stuff) I am still very interested in Japanese design, food and history. Are there short-term courses in English in Japan? I think that having such a cultural shock would be an interesting learning process as well. My father went once to japan because of his job - it was an adventure, and well... I like adventures!
Can anyone help me on that, please?
Also, I am Dutch, have the European passport, etc etc etc. Do I have to get a vista to study in japan for less than one semester?

Kind regards!

You could do a short Japanese course.

Talk to this guy:

("weeaboo" is a pretty condescending term.. more polite if you don't use it)

Hello! Thank you for the quick response.

I am terribly sorry for the use of such term. I meant that I am not that kind of crazy anime fan who thinks that Japan is just like on the cartoons ant that people walk around with gigantic swords. I wont use that term again!

I will check on the topic you recommended. Thank you!

Well, the thing is: My main goal is not to learn Japanese, but to have a more multicultural background on my portfolio. Are there design courses in English in Japan? I don't think I could attend a full course with basic Japanese knowledge.
Cooking is also another passion of mine. Are there relevant cooking courses in English that are not "tourist traps", that teach you only how to roll sushi and drown it with Mayo for thousands of dollars?
