Just a random thought...
If a Japanese elementary schooler goes up to an elderly lady on a train and says "doite," would this be considered rude?
I haven't touched Japanese in 3-4 years, so my command of the language is pretty rusty. I just wanted to confirm something and make sure I'm not misinterpreting something here.
