My sister and her boyfriend recently returned from Japan, and brought back a few gifts for us.
I was also given a letter by my sister from an elderly Japanese couple.
It reads :

If you should find this memo, please get in touch with me as soon as possible. I'd like to correspond with you as a good friend. It is my dream for a long time to receive an English letter from someone. I like playing tennis and gardening with my wife. Her name is Teruyo [last name]. We are both 69 years old and pensioners. We have two sons and three grand children. If you live in Japan, it is more convenient for me.
Well, thats all for today. I am looking forward to your reply.

It's been a few years since I've received a letter from a correspondant (excluding bills obviously.).
Should I go through with it? Does anyone here write letters to people in foreign countries? How often should letters be sent?
