Hi,
I am looking at transferring from my company in Australia to our head office in Tokyo.
I am trying to understand what an equivalent wage is between Australia and Japan, I have hunted around on the internet but not had much luck once I start adding in Tax, utilities, rent, etc. Essentially I am just trying to understand at what particular wage would I have a status quo. Lets say I currently earn AUD$80k per year.

Qunli,
You are correct, but I would like to at least have some metric to understand if I would be living in a penthouse or a cardboard box under a bridge. So far I have not been able to find anything on the internet.

Are you looking for sort of like an average ranking of salaries by country/field? There is a site I know of but I don't think I can post it following the rules.
