Nobody will see the actual discussion, though, since Eric was very quick to cut down dissent without so much as a "hey, maybe these guys have a good idea, and one of them is even offering to help us. Let me sit down and think about it."

There was a whole discussion about how I would volunteer so that members here could get a better service, and how Eric actively ignored it, but that was also criticised by Petina and quickly deleted.

In the end, this post will also probably be deleted.

I know mate, but my suggestion came with the clause that the 1 board I would moderate (or even just be a vigilante for, reporting dangerous or spammy links to you) would be the only one allowing videos, and since it's the language board, I thought it'd be a good idea to consider. My reasoning was that learning languages through text is very difficult. There's little point in a language board if we can't point other users to websites focused on pronunciation, or even to [popular online bookstore] so that users can get the best price on books like Genki, or even YouTube videos that focus on pronunciation and other things TJC doesn't cover. The other boards, fair enough-- TJC has made plenty of videos specialising in everything from vending machines to Japanese rituals, and he seems happy to take requests. If all we need to do is link to his videos on YouTube, wonderful.

I'll concede, though. As I said before (but maybe it was deleted), I like this forum a lot. I appreciate what Craig has done to get this up and running, and I'm quite impressed that just you and Petina have kept the place going. I know that's tough work. If you're absolutely unmoving on the topic, I'll slink back into the shadows and probably just lurk here like I did before, and watch the YouTube videos like I have for... almost a year now. I'm done stirring the proverbial pot.
