I have been watching many of the videos on the Japan channel recently, but I've been focusing on the 'How to' section in particular. It's almost a year since I moved to Japan and as such the videos are a great way of helping me reflect on what I have learnt over that time. I'm sure I?ve made mistakes along the way, but the topics he discusses are very important I believe; and his analysis is very accurate. In any case, he mentions in passing a little bit about his first experiences in Japan, in which he blew through 25k in 6 months. It got me wondering about his history and what his motivation to moving to Japan was. I would like to know a little bit more about his background; just to fill in the blanks really. I don't even know his name.

As a side note, I noticed he sometimes struggles to find the right word in English to explain himself. I find myself going through the same problem and it has led me to believe that as my Japanese improves my English gets worse.

watch ALL of his videos and read all of his replies to the comments and you'll fill your empty spots, everything is on hiss channel...just keep watching.

I think the reasons he doesn't talk about himself is because he is modest, also because he says that he thinks Japan is more interesting than he is (I don't think he is impressed by the ego trippers on Youtube who talk about themselves all the time) and I think partly because he wants to protect his and his wife's privacy.
I respect him for that.

Of course I don't want to invade his privacy but you can't tell someone you spent 25k in 6 months and then leave it at that. I want to know what motivated him to come to Japan because everyone seems to have a unique reason. The fact he mentions he didn't speak any Japanese at first is interesting because it makes me wonder if he just decided one day to quit his job and come to Japan.

The reason why he doesnt explain himself in the japan channel is bc he already said it was Japan he was explaining not him or his life. But! He does have a channel on the side " the silly dude" I think its called that has his rants his views basically a bio of him in 9 mins or less intervals so there ya have it. ^^

If you watch all his videos in one of them he does explain why he lives there. Something to the effect of it being the best place for him. I'd leave it at that. I mean its not like he owes anyone an explanation.
