The bicycles and pedestrians in Japan get me.
They shoot out from side streets on to main roads or cross the street without looking.
I have no idea how many times I have almost wiped out someone doing that!
They seem to be so focused on where they are going and thinking about other stuff that they have no awareness of what is going on around them.

Sure!
Riding my bike on busy streets is really living on the edge!
Always someone not paying attention and ready to run into me when I least expect it!!!!!!!!!

Must be careful wearing the iPod walking down Japanese streets too!!
If you dont hear the little bell ringing you can get run down by a bicycle!!!

I have a quick question about how speeding is perceived in Japan(and whether or not it is ticketed(and if it is a large fine)). I currently live near Chicago in the U.S. where the speed limit is 60 mph but you won't get a ticket unless your going close to 80 or more. In other states the speed limits go up to 75 mph and you can drive around 85 without much or any risk of getting pulled over. I suppose my question is "By how much can I speed?"

As a foreigner in Japan we should try to stay out of trouble.
My advice.. don't break any rules.

Let me try to ask my question more clearly. How many tickets can I get on a Tourists Visa and at what cost per ticket before my license is suspended?
