japanese christmas 13 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 1
hi guys

i was looking for some japanese christmas movies if there are any? the thing is that i attend japanese classes and we want to watch a movie (or anime) on our last day before we leave for christmas holidays. ofc a christmas movie would be most fitting. we will need at least english subtitles (i probably need to download that coz i am living in germany, so i guess english subtitles will be no problem) and if u know a nice japanese movie one could possibly understand (or at least getting the grid) after learning one year of japanese (we are in the middle of the book "minna no nihongo" then it doesnt necessarily need to be related to christmas. i guess that will be hard though, coz i know my japanese is bad

and i think a youtube video about what japan looks like right now becoz of christmas would be cool. what does japanese do at christmas. in germany its snowing and the streets are decorated festively. it looks very nice. are the japanese doing something similar? and its tradition to eat a duck or a goose for christmas as well. and we eat tons of sweets that are especially made for christmas "Lebkuchen", "Spekulatius", "Weihnachtsstollen" etc

and children build houses out of Lebkuchen -> Lebkuchenhaus ^^ and a lot of other stuff. u probably got what i said ^^ to make it short: would be interesting to know what you guys do in japan these days.

and maybe about new year as well. our japanese teacher told us that they are doing some rice pounding for example

ya some videos that cover some topics about new year and christmas in japan would be awesome

i thank you guys

Manfred

EDIT:

so far my friend came up with the idea that he still got this movie that he videotaped on an anime pay tv channel here in germany: "Tokyo Godfathers" sounds pretty promising
