Getting ready on the train. OK? 14 Years ago Karma: 0
in england cos of often long commutes by bus or the underground, faffing about with undone work or papers or more importantly doing the everyday make-up u didnt have time for before leaving home is not a problem & very common...

considering all the rules about no phones and i'm guessing no food or drink either, would this be a 'no no' on the japan public transport??

Generally speaking, most Japanese people will frown on the following actions when done on the train: talking on a cell phone, listening to music too loudly (even with earphones), eating, putting on make-up or other self-primping. I'm not saying, there aren't some Japanese people who do this, but most well-mannered Japanese don't appreciate it. Strangely enough, they don't mind drunks passing out on the train
