I also wanted to say hi! My name is Josh, am 23 years old, and have admired everything Japanese since I was a kid.

I just discovered the youtube channel last week by chance and have been watching nearly 30 videos a day.

It saddens me when informative, quality videos like these don't get the large amount of subscribers that viral idiocy gets. I plan on visiting Japan next year and would have been lost without all your How To videos.

I will try to help spread word of the channel when I have time to kill. For things like this, it pays to know some internet marketing.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who would probably be interested in subscribing to the channel if they knew about it. I'll try to get the word out to about 200,000 or so people in the coming months.

200,000 is quite a lot for one person. OO; Good luck!

I will introduce myself here and not take up board space. My name is Megan and I am in my last year of high school. I live on a small island across from Seattle in the United States. At 5 years old I was already watching Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Gundam, and Tenchi Muyo. As I grew up I began drawing characters from manga as well, Inuyasha being my favorite. But my real interest in Japan did not begin until middle school when I joined a club of friends interested in learning the language and culture. For almost two years I have been practicing my speaking, though I still have a long way to go. Only recently have I discovered Japan Channel, but am glad I did. Hopefully I can learn more and help others on this site!

Thought I'd also drop in my 2 cents rather than start a new thread for this purpose.

I'm 26 years old and I live in South Africa (no I don't have a lion as a pet, I've seriously been asked that), studied Graphic Design and have a BA degree in Visual Communication. I think I've been a closet Japanophile for years now and never knew it until a friend of mine went to Japan on the JET Program last year. As soon as September rolls on by, I'm also applying to the JET Program with my boyfriend of 7 years. I hope we don't get placed too far apart OOPS! That reminds me... I NEED TO RENEW MY PASSPORT!

So far I'm studying Japanese with the Rosetta Stone package and I think it'll help me with the very basics, but I suppose it's way too early to tell. I'm also making use of Heissigs' "Remembering the Kaji" and "Remembering the Kana" as well as any other resources I can lay my hands on right now. Tofugu is crammed with helpful info on the Japanese language. I actually created a youtube account just so I could follow TJC and give "our man" my bit of support aswell.

I will try to keep track of all the steps I go through with the JET Program so I can give as many answers as possible to those who are able and interested in joining the program. I'm really hoping to get accepted to the program as it is something I really need right now. I also hope to be a helpful member of this forum, sooooo without further a-do....

Hello everybody!
