The Scholarship Foundation for Studies of Japanese 15 Years ago Karma: 0
Well I sent this email to the owner of the youtube channel thejapanchanneldcom. The recommendation was to visit the forum, so here I am.

Well instead of rewriting the whole thing, I'll just copy the mail in here for now.

..."I was thinking about applying for a scholarship from The Scholarship Foundation for Studies of Japanese Society. I recently discovered the foundation and I got about a week (until 4th dec) to send in my application.

Since I don't speak japanese it would be hard to write a bigger kind of report. But I will apply in the category of art/culture, I was planning to take photographs and add shorter pieces of text.
Then I will present my result in the form of a small book or a little exhibit.

Well, to the point. I wonder if you know something that can give my application, that little extra.
Perhaps you have any tip of places I need to visit or whatever. Or maybe you have an idea of an even better project. It could be any kind of project. The only thing is that it has to be done sometime during between june-july.
I just need to present some kind of result at the end of the project so the knowledge about Japan will increase amoung the swedish people. That is the purpose of the foundation."

Well, I'm thankful for any tip and critic.
Catch ya later!

LLAAAAMMMMEEEE.... I just wrote a reply that took me like 15 mins to write and then the website bugged

Well I'll try to sum up what I wrote..

I rather work on a project in Japan during the summer than work in a factory here in sweden all summer. So i'll do any kind of project.

I just think that the category of art/culture will be the easiest since I dont speak japanese.

The project can be about basically anything.
I just have to spread the "knowledge" I when I get back to Sweden. That is the purpose of the foundation. The scholarship is for
2 weeks - 3 months.

There is only one hard criteria to fulfill.
I need to establish contact with an intitution or company and get and invite from them. Maybe an (on top of my head) anime studio I will visit and include in my report.

Well that summs it up I think.

Are you meaning that you will come here on a cultural visa?
And you need to find an expert in some field to teach you something uniquely Japanese?

Because... I believe you already need to have experience in something before you come..
for example, I know potters from England who came here to study old Japanese pottery techniques...
but they had studied pottery seriously for many years...

I believe that is a prerequisite for the cultural visa.
Were you told something different??

Dude what you are trying to get is impossible...
No Japanese company will hire you just for a summer job...
There are many Japanese people who can do what you seek and they have the advantage in geting that kind of job...

He said the "category" is art/culture.. and "spreading knowledge" when he goes home.. so I think he is referring to a cultural visa..
that would not mean finding a job.. it would mean finding a teacher..
without the experience I mentioned above.. it would be impossible to get the visa..
but yeah, either way the plan is... difficult.. as they would say here
