The Technical Business Manager will have the key role to coordinate the technical department (an
international team for presales and after sales) in Japan, as well as being responsible for
sharpening the sales team’s knowledge of market and products.
The main task will be to act as a project manager during the acquisition phases of customer
projects, when technical and sales team interact to plan and present prospect presentations to
customers.
The Technical Business Manager will provide coaching and expertise based not only on technical
excellence, but also on deep business and market knowledge, facilitating thereby the sales of high

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, coach and coordinate the technical department, facilitating the team’s collaboration with sales to plan, present and follow up prospect presentations during acquisition phase
- Develop and mentor the technical department, establishing and driving goals by acting as both a coach and a player; ensure branch specific knowledge transparency within the team
- Be a reference point for both technical and sales departments, providing knowledge thanks to technical expertise and business and market knowledge
- Support and facilitate the sales department in business development operations, attending relevant sales meetings as a technical expert
- Be present in pre-sales and post-sales activities with customer development, customer coaching and analysis, and onsite customer consultation
- Represent the company by holding presentations at trade shows and conferences
- Act as a project leader for key account projects, developing long term customer relationships
- Act as a project leader for new product introduction in the local market
- Coordinate competitors and market analysis for the Japan territory
Key competencies & Experience
- Educational background in Electric Engineering or Automation, Process Instrumentation Engineering (electric panels design), on a BA level or above
- Around 8 years’ experience in the industry in similar roles, with experience of IT and Software projects
- Experience in the PLM industry will be highly preferred, along with project management skills
- Ability to mix a solid technical knowledge with a well-developed business sense, driving the development of sound technical solutions by keeping an eye on business efficiency and market development
- Strong communication skills and dynamic business sense, ability to effectively talk to customers on a Management and C-level
- Mature yet proactive, flexible leadership style, willingness to drive the team to continuous improvement and innovation
- The position is open to local as well as international candidates, with proficiency in both Japanese and English considered a must
- The job involves extensive travelling
