Employment for Gaijin married to local 11 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I was wondering what types of employment would be available for someone married to Japanese citizen?
I have been married to my wife for two years and we would like to move to Japan. I am currently employed in management but do not have a degree, just college certificate. Is there any possibility that I could get an English teaching position as I am a native English speaker?
I would already be living in Japan and have a spouse visa.
Many thanks.

Yes.
A spouse visa would make you easy to employ as an English teacher.

Hey folks I recently moved to japan with my wife (who is Japanese) and my son and finding it pretty tough finding work for the reason being having tattoos. I have been looking on sites like JobsinJapn.com and craigslist etc, but only finding positions to teach children and I feel with me having tattoos that it will be an issue so I don't bother. So was hoping if anyone could help me where to look for work? Or if there are other sites I can look at.

Can you cover the tatts?
If they never see them, they will never know they are there.

Unfortunately I can't cover them up,I have a small tattoo on my neck and a hand tattoo. Nothing crazy though, coming from a graphic design/illustration career my tattoos are based on comics so nothing gang or criminal related. Just want to able to provide some type of income....Think it will be a bit tough with only my wife only working with a little one.

So start applying for jobs.
Tatts don't stop you applying and that gives you a chance.
If you don't apply for jobs you definitely wont get them.
Buy some big bandaids from the drug store and cover the tatts up.
Nobody will question it.
