Wonderful information here. I'm happy this site was made!

I've read a few threads, and noticed there wasn't a "trade" that's been covered. Also in the "Working Visa" thread it is mentioned in the list that "Skilled Labor" could be a possible way to obtain one.

Is it realistic to be able to find work in Japan if you're a licensed "Journeyman" Plumber? Does this pass for a "Skilled Labor"? In my city, there seems to be alot of work for us plumbers as commercial work is actively done around. Areas in commercial consist of: Offices, High-Rise Buildings, Restraunts, Businesses, Lease spaces, etc.

I'm 21 and had only achieved my G.E.D. Is my trade not "sepcial" enough?

Hello

The important point is whether there are Japanese people who can do the work.
If there are.. then a visa for that sort of work is not likely.
In this case.. not likely, sorry.

Sure, anybody could do anything in this world, but to be a licensed plumber in the U.S. you have to have 8000 working hours recorded in the field. As well as take a state exam to obtain your license. It's not something that can be done easily or within a short amount of time.

That must account for something!

Off-Topic: Why is your Karma in the negatives? Seems like you give information out alot. Talk about shooting the messenger, huh?

I am sure it is difficult... but they have plumbers in Japan already... so they won give visas to foreigners to take Japanese jobs.. sorry.

(My negative karma all come from one dude here on the forum who has some issues.. admin knows all about it.. so don't worry )

Well, I mostly asked just for re-assurance. It hasn't came to it yet, but I will still hope it would work out. Until then I'm not going to lose faith or else I would've gave up a while back.

Keep it gangsta, player.

I've been looking for a plumber in Japan and also to buy a new flushing toilet, but it seems impossible to get one to come to work on an island. Plumbers are hard to find that want to work on the smaller islands as they would neen to bring all the equipment on a ferry!
